Ref. Kitty de Bruin, Nederlands Telewerk Forum
Dear Mr. Culpin,
I am writing to you in regard
with the Telework Awards 2000 of the European Commission.
Referring to the information
you already received from Mrs. Kitty de Bruin of the Nederlands Telewerk
Forum, I would like to take this opportunity to present our publication
Telewerken; Journal for Modern Organisation Forms to you.
Since the start in 1994, the
publication covers all aspects of telework and the related changes and
developments in technology, organisation, economic and societal circumstances,
both organisational and individuals, politics and the law.
The journal has a solid and
growing audience of those in the Netherlands who are professionally interested
in the field of flexibilisation and mobilisation of office work, which
the journal regards as but one, though major, aspect of changes in (our
view on) work, the organisation of work and the importance of work in
the information society.
Researchers from the major
academic institutes, both inside and outside the Netherlands are known
to have published in Telewerken, which in turn serves as a major source
of information for newcomers in the field, students and professionals,
as well as more experienced managers and workers in today's electronic
work environment.
As publisher we participate
in the Nederlands Telewerk Forum, the Dutch national platform with participants
among facilitators, suppliers and the government. The journal serves as
an information carrier for the Newsletter of this organisation.
Since 1997 Mr. Victor de Pous
is the editor-in-chief. As co-founder of the International Telework Foundation
ITF (a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which stimulates academic
research in the field of telework, virtual organizations and e-business)
and as a 20 year specialist in the field of legal aspects of computers
and telecommunication, he has access to a wide, international knowledge-network,
which serves to guarantee the high level and high quality content of our
journal. Also, Mr. De Pous is a senior researcher for the Anton Dreesmann
Institute of the University of Amsterdam and he reported on telework for
the Dutch Department of Traffic and Water Management, the Nederlands Telewerk
Forum, as well as the European Commission.
