Since its inception in 1993, the organisation has worked on a transborder basis to:
·Promote the teleworking concept
·Represent the interests of teleworkers and telework based businesses throughout the island of Ireland
·Develop a range of products and services to facilitate the development of a telework friendly environment.
In 1998, Telework Ireland - became an affiliate member of the Small Firms Association (SFA), in as a reflection of its mission statement:
"To mainstream teleworking as a way of working and doing business in Ireland"
