National networks
of the Information Society are the practical implementation of the
Global Information Space Project. For a long time international
and European organizations have been carrying out different campaigns
on stimulation of the development and implementation of the national
strategies of creation of the Information Society.
The term "E-Ukraine" originated from the title of the
one of the first Ukrainian popular scientific issues dedicated to
this topic, the book by Oleh Shevchuk and Oleksiy Holobutsky "E-Ukraine.
Information Society in Ukraine. To Be or Not to Be". They became
also the co-authors of the project "Ukrainian Network of the
Information Society". That's why the name of the respective
web site reads: www.e-ukraine.org.ua.
"Ukrainian Network of the Information Society" has just
started functioning and the authors of the Project will appreciate
any input. We are seeking ways for Ukraine to successfully integrate
into the Global Information Space. We are open to cooperation within
the framework of the Project.
