Work and Skills - focus on best practice to enhance work and skills in organisations through the use of ICT.

The work and skills domain focuses upon an individual’s skills and working environment and how they interact within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, taking into consideration the metamorphosis/changes in the new forms of working life. For example post-Fordism, lean production, flexibility, out-sourcing, group work, clustering, are some of the issues that are shaping our work-life balance. The concept and idea of a new working life has been described as a new paradigm. It is viewed as a revolutionary shift in the global economy. The link between work and skills in the “new digital working life” can be explored in socio-economic sectors such as:

  • diversity in working life
  • work organisation
  • work environments
  • ICT Management
  • new media industry development
