  • Establishing networks of interest among the leading European and international stakeholders (European institutions, national governments, industry and civil society)
  • Providing baseline data about dependability initiatives around the world
  • Preparing policy roadmaps targeted at industry, national governments and European institutions

The DDSI consortium prepared 28 reports detailing national policies aimed at fostering the dependability and security of information infrastructures. The objective is for European policy-makers to use this information to assist in policy development at the European level and to pave the way towards benchmarking activities.

DDSI has resulted in:

  • the consolidation of a unique multi-disciplinary international network of experts and stakeholders
  • a detailed overview of policies and issues in all member states and accession states benchmarked against other nations including the United States, Canada, Australia, India, the People's Republic of China and Japan.
