This year’s Telework Week promises to be the most successful yet, with well over 140 separate events and activities being reported in all countries around Europe and beyond.Details of the events can be found on this site. Italy alone has over 30 events and activities during ETW ‘97. The ETW ‘97 partners at the European level, include DGXIII of the European Commission, the European Telework Development project (ETD), and notably from industry Siemens and Toshiba. There are of course many sponsors of local and national events, but with the service suppliers being particularly strong. We can also see some particularly interesting activities that are beyond the normal dissemination work. One is a collaborative creative event (Chaos in action) involving at least 9 different countries, with several from Central and Eastern Europe. Whilst some may not think of this as Telework, to me this will be a key demonstration to many people of the potential of new work techniques. The European Phone Card project is another example of transnational awareness raising. Several countries will each select one of the 4 designs in time for ETW ‘97. Currently Italy, Spain, France, Belgium and the UK are participating, but we expect even more to join. One of four designs of Telephone card will be released by several countries in time for ETW ‘97. Currently Italy, Spain, France, Belgium and the UK are participating, but we expect even more to join. This site is the multimedia incarnation of ETW’97 Newsletter, and 8000 copies of the latest edition have been distributed. |
