Roma Nexus Teleworking Center, first opened on last October the 2nd, was realized by Telecom Italia within a wide agreement with Rome municipality, and is one of the most important working telematic centers in Europe, considering its size and the technologies there available. The building of this Pilot Center for the spread of telework adoption is part of the “Roma Nexus” agreement together with other projects for the cabling of Rome with optical fibers and the deployment of new services to the citizens. The Center offers advanced IT and telematic services, including the availability of the most widely used software packages, the access to company intranets and software, Internet, e-mail, document sharing between users, data transfer, access to remote computers or to different data bases. Moreover a Service Center ensures helpdesk availability and secretarial services like photocopies, phone and mail handling, parcels dispatching and booking. The center, organized on a “desk-share” policy, offers different kind of workspaces that can be booked for a few hours or months and configured, according to the different requirements, as flexible and modular “virtual office”. In the Center there are about 100 multimedia workplaces, placed in single offices or in open spaces of different sizes. The main goal of this Center is to make available a set of services to companies, professionals and businessmen, thus enabling them to perform easily and efficiently even when far from their usual workplace. In the Center are also available meeting rooms, a conference room and videoconferencing facilities. The use of the most advanced technologies is made user-friendly through a technical helpdesk available to the Center’s customers. The Center’s services can be booked using a toll-free number (167-693693) or Internet (http://www.telenexus.telecomitalia.it) |
