The TASTI project

Call for collaborations and contributions for the debate on:
European Week of Telework 1997 (ETW '97)

European Week of Telework 1997 offers an invaluable opportunity to reflect on the growing and developing intellectual professions from the perspective of developing the potential offered by the new information technologies and telecommunications tied to the theme of distance-learning.

We need to understand, in this context, how to respond to a series of questions; for example:

How is the world of Telework evolving? What are the agencies and persons who will have the possibility to most efficiently adopt telework capabilities? What are the obtainable advantages of such a productive system? What kinds of professionals are necessary for the diffusion of telework? What steps are necessary to launch such experiments?

The Laboratory of Educational Research of the University of Florence,

and the PIN of Prato in collaboration with the Telematic Association Ego-CreaNET has proposed the development of an operative plan called "TASTI" , that has the capability of elaborating a systematic analysis in response to such quests, with the goal of establishing interconnections between the Centers of Research (University, CNR, Industry) and small

and average industry through the creation of "transversal and coordinate" competence with respect to traditional disciplinary structures of knowledge. Such a plan aims at the constitution of the Telematic Agency of Scientific and Technological Information", a tele-enterprise, that is configured as an innovative training and job-creation, suitable for defining the most adequate conditions from an increase of telework to higher professional qualifications.

With the plan TASTI, that follows the slogan "from Keyboards to Minds", "telework" is interpreted not only as part time work from home, and on the basis of its informational contents, but also as the result of the technological evolution of data systems, finalized by a more advanced administration; coordinated and flexible in factors that increase scientific innovation and technology in the production of PMI and more in general, of socio-economic development.

The Project TASTI will be presented on three separate occasions during European Telework Week of; such presentation will serve to open a wider debate, and comparison of initiatives dimensioned from a common goal, and with the scope of planning a collaborative project TASTI at an inter regional level.  In fact while Project TASTI-Tuscany 97/98 is finalized to the qualifications of "Scientific Giornalist-communicator" post graduate, we will propose a renovated project TASTI-interregional for the qualification of "post-diploma", finalized to realize more ample training/professional courses, in the area of the development of telework, informational technology, and communication.
