Events In IrelandThis year events in Ireland will combine media coverage, face to face events and webcasting. A conference on teleworking and disability will be held at the European Foundation centre in Dublin on Thursday 5th November bringing together training organisations, disabled teleworkers, organisations representing the disabled and "wannabee" teleworkers. This event will be opened by Minister Mary Wallace who has responsibility for disability issues. The conference will be collaborating with an EU supported COST programme conference organised by Telecom Eireann at the same time. ETD in Ireland is working with Telecom Eireann to create a radio feature around a group of prospective teleworkers and their first week's experience of working away from the traditional office. In addition we plan in collaboration with the Adapt TELEMAN project a series of five webcast interviews with managers, telecommuters, small businesses and others on their experiences of teleworking. The chairman of the newly formed National Telework Council will also be speaking to the media about the council's work. The Telework Ireland organisation will also be holding its conference after the end of ETW on 12th and 13th November in Portumna on the theme of "Teletrade". The conference will be opened by science, technology and commerce Minister Noel Treacy. Home
