
The diagram above gives the basic structure of the "teleworking platform"
that will be developed in Balearic Islands.
Main activities:
Telecentres net in the three main islands: at
least 4 work boxes each, meeting room, common facilities (printers, scanners
)
meeting room, videoconferencing, ISDN access to internet
Joint Inauguration 3 islands: 5 November 1998.
Participants in the inauguration will include: mass media,
local politicians, and business organisations
Teleworking central node: central node coordinating
the activities of the telecentres, access via a transactional WEB site
and call centre (Balears teleworking number). It provides the following
services: general information on Teleworking, details of teleworking activities
in Balears, reservation of space in telecentres, rental of teleworking
equipment, contract translation services, specialized informatic equipment,
etc.
Inauguration: 5 Nov.
Promotion Campaign teleworking:
The target groups are: tourist (enlarge their holidays),
local SMEs (new way of working: way to overcome insularity), and tourism
sector managers (include teleworking in their offer), 2 residences (enlarge
their stage by teleworking).
The initiation of this campaign will be during European
Telework Week 1998.
All these activities are cofinanced by the EU through
a European project. The teleworking platform will be a part of the so-called
"Teleworking Mediterranean Club" we will form with two Greek
regions.
