Guatemala 3-4 February 2000

Eurolat-IS is an initiative to boost collaboration between the EU and Latin America in domains of application of Information Society Technologies. The first Eurolat-IS event is a Thematic Workshop on ‘Electronic Commerce and New Ways of Working’. It will take place in Guatemala on 3-4 February 2000.

For the initiative and the latest update of the programme please look at the web-site http://www.eurolatis.upm.es

 Participation

This event is intended to build consortia to present proposals for collaboration to the IST and other programmes. It is a brokerage event and will be restricted to between 60 and 100 participants.

Participants will be selected on the basis of a short pre-proposal for collaboration submitted to the Eurolat-IS Co-ordination Unit. Selection will be based upon a possible match with other participants in the workshop. It is intended to send out the first invitations to participants in mid-January.

A limited amount of financing will be available for travel and subsistence related costs of participants both from the EU and from Latin America. Priority will be given to SMEs.

A ‘Request to Participate’ can be sent at any time to the Eurolat-IS Co-ordination Unit ngarcia@vi.upm.es. The form is available on the Eurolat-IS web-site http://www.eurolatis.upm.es/

Those interested in participating may provide as many different requests as they want. Proposals may be sent at any time. The matching will continue until Monday 21 January.
